How to Book a Corporate Headshot
Getting a corporate headshot can feel like a big deal, especially if you’ve never done it before. A lot of people come to us because their job asks for one or they’re launching something new, maybe updating their LinkedIn page or setting up a website. They’re not sure what the process looks like or if they’ll even look good in professional photos.
Here’s the thing. A good corporate headshot isn’t about looking a certain way. You don’t have to lose weight, wear something fancy, or know how to pose. What matters most is the lighting, the setup, and the way the photographer helps you feel relaxed. And once you break it down step by step, booking your shoot in Los Angeles doesn’t have to be stressful at all. We keep it clear and easy, so you know what’s coming next from the first message to final delivery.
Step 1: Reach Out and Say Hello
The first thing you do is get in touch. Text, call, or send over an email. Whatever feels best for you. We’ll ask a few quick questions, like if you’ve ever done a shoot before. Most people haven’t, and that’s totally fine. Knowing your experience level helps us know how much guidance to offer.
We’ll also ask when you need your photos. Some people are on tight deadlines—maybe they have a work event, an interview, or a company profile going live. Others are thinking ahead and have more time. Either way, we’ll match the timeline to your needs.
This step is about getting comfortable with asking questions and starting the conversation. You don’t need to have anything figured out before you reach out. That’s our job.
Step 2: Talk Through What You Need
Once we’ve said hello, the next step is figuring out the details. What kind of images do you need? Are the photos for business cards, a website bio, or something else? Some people need just one photo for a LinkedIn update. Others want a small batch of polished shots to use across multiple platforms.
We’ll go over how many images you’re looking for and what kind of background fits the vibe you’re going for. Some clients like a clean white background that keeps things simple. Others ask for a city view or natural light. Having a quick chat about all of this helps make sure everything feels right once shoot day comes.
If you’re not sure, that’s fine too. We’ll walk through the options and offer advice based on what works best for your project. It’s not about picking the “right” choice. It’s about finding something that feels like you.
Clients who book with Daring Ninja Photographer can select from up to nine different Los Angeles studio locations, each with options for classic white, urban, or natural-light settings.
Step 3: Choose Your Studio and Confirm the Details
With your needs clear, it’s time to lock in where we’re shooting. We offer several studios across Los Angeles, so there’s flexibility in location. Some people choose the closest studio. Others think about parking, lighting, or just where they’ll feel the most at ease. All nine studio options are fully set up and ready to go.
Once that’s chosen, we’ll send out a clear list of what’s included for the session and what happens next. An invoice is sent your way, and once the deposit is paid, you’re officially booked. From there, you just need to show up.
Getting all of this firmed up ahead of time helps avoid any surprises. You’ll know what to expect, which studio to arrive at, and roughly how long we’ll shoot. Everything is laid out in plain English.
Step 4: Show Up for Your Session and Let the Photographer Guide You
This is where the fun part really starts. You don’t need to practice posing or watch YouTube tutorials. We guide you through it all, from where to look to how to stand.
To help everyone loosen up, we kick things off with a short warm-up game. It’s quick, low pressure, and helps take the edge off. A lot of people say they stop worrying after the first few minutes.
Throughout the shoot, we keep things relaxed. We’ll talk you through what works on camera and check in with you as we go. No need to worry about what to do with your hands or how to tilt your head. That’s our job. You just need to show up and let us guide (and cheer) you through it.
The session includes professional lighting setup, with every step guided for an easy, comfortable experience.
Step 5: What Happens After the Shoot
After the session ends, the process keeps moving. Within about one day, you’ll get all the unedited photos from your shoot. That means you can look through them right away, pick your favorites, or even ask for help deciding which ones stand out the most.
Once you’ve chosen the shots you love, we’ll handle editing. That takes about three days. These edits clean up the photos without going overboard. You’ll still look like yourself—just rested, polished, and camera ready.
Everything in this step is clear and timed out so you aren’t left wondering when you’ll see your photos or what happens next. From start to finish, it’s a smooth handoff.
Your Photos, Your Way—Stress-Free and Simple
Booking a corporate headshot is often more confusing than it needs to be. We hear all the time that people tried it once before and didn’t love it, or that they’ve never taken professional photos and worry it’ll feel awkward or uncomfortable. That’s why walking you through each part of the process matters so much to us.
With a clear plan, a responsive guide, and the right setup, anyone can walk into a studio and walk out with images that feel like them. It doesn’t have to be stressful, and it doesn’t have to take long. Once you’ve booked one session, you’ll wonder why you waited so long.
